  19. Installing the NDIS5 Miniport driver on Microsoft Windows 98 or ME or 2000
  20.  
  21. 1. Plug USB cable into modem and into one of the computer USB ports.
  22. 2. Plug in the modem power adapter and make sure that the modem POWER indicator is lit.
  23. 3. Turn the computer power ON to start Windows.
  24. 4. When Windows prompts with "USB Composite Device" in the
  25.    "New Hardware Found" dialog box, click the "Next" button.
  26. 5. Select "Search for the best driver for your device (Recommended)"
  27.    from the "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog box, then click the
  28.    "Next" button.
  29. 6. Insert the Driver Diskette in your floppy drive A: of your PC.
  30. 7. Select "Specify a location" and type Path "A:\" in the
  31.    "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog box, then click the "Next" button.
  32. 8. Click the "Next" button in the "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog box.
  33. 9. Windows will prompt with "WebSTAR USB Cable Modem Adapter"
  34.    in the "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog box.
  35. 10. Click the "Next" button in the "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog box.
  36.     Windows will copy the driver (WebSTAR.SYS) from A:\
  37.     to the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory and the WebSTAR.INF file from A:\
  38.     to the C:\WINDOWS\INF\OTHER directory.
  39. 11. When Windows prompts with "WebSTAR USB Cable Modem Adapter"
  40.     in the "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog box, click the "Finish" button.
  41. 12. Remove the USB Driver Diskette from your floppy drive.
  42. 13. Restart your computer to initialize the network function.

  46. The driver (WebSTAR.SYS) conforms to the Network Driver Interface
  47. Specification (NDIS) 5.0, and is used with Microsoft Windows 98, ME,
  48. or Windows 2000 (NT 5.0).
